I’m all gigged out for the year now, and looking back over the shows of 2007. I have to admit, none have jumped out at me as immediately being the best unlike in 2006 (Emperor’s reunion show and Reverend Bizarre’s farewell show in the same night!) For me though it would either be Unsilence / The River / Centurions Ghost / Lamp Of Thoth / Cambian Dawn at The Fiddlers pub in Chalk Farm, or Candlemass at Dingwalls; was very impressed by Rob Lowe who in my opinion absolutely filled Messiah’s shoes.

So what was your best UK gig of the year?

There are some great ones coming up next year, I think - already got tickets to see Primordial, Moonsorrow - and therefore unfortunately Children of Bodom - a couple of the Paganfest dates, Behemoth, Wolves In The Throne Room, Pagan Altar, Mael Mordha, Turisas & Alestorm (must admit this isn’t my choice because I’m sick to death of both bands, don’t even get me started on the waste of space that is Alestorm), and Bloodstock Festival. 2008 looks exciting!

That's right, the ONLY club night in Glasgow playing nothing but the best in heavy metal returns to the Soundhaus TOMORROW - Friday the 26th of October!

Every month we bring you four live bands and four hours of DJs playing the absolute best of all that's hard, fast and heavy.

CHAO:SPHERE: Electronically enhanced metal with downtuned guitars and primal vocals.

On DJing duty we have SIN regular Quzzy (Co-Exist, Pigscum) and this month's special guest Callum (Achren) playing all things metal from AC/DC to Zyklon by way of Slayer, Megadeth, Satyricon, Machine Head, Pantera, Cannibal Corpse, Iron Maiden, Arch Enemy, Judas Priest, Exodus, Napalm Death, Manowar, Testament, Metallica and whatever else takes their fancy!

Gordian is now every 3rd Saturday of the month!
I have a ticket for the London date of Turisas, supported by Abgott, which I bought then changed my mind about..
This gig is sold out! Looking for around £12? (face value is £9 but with booking fee, p+p etc it'd come to over sixteen quid with Stargreen..) If you have paypal that'd be dead handy.
